Adrian Cox and Alan Dornford from Green 4 were proud to present the Aiskew proposals to politicians and civil servants from the Department for Business and Trade in York this morning. They were invited to provide a ten-minute “elevator pitch” along with numerous other agritech and agricultural innovation firms as part of the LEP’s day to make sure that the areas aspirations and objectives are understood in Westminster.
Mayoral candidate Cllr Paul Haslam was there, and spoke passionately about the need for food security and its importance to the region.
Meanwhile, as part of the Aiskew presentation, Prof Chris Sansom from University of Derby was dialled to explain that the project had already become the focus of a funding bid for a European wide study to drive energy efficiency in the sector.
We made some helpful connections into the Department, and will be following those up during the coming weeks and months, to make sure that Aiskew and the benefits of the Agritech Park are firmly on their radar as we approach a General Election later this year.
